Dear Reader,
How was it? Christmas I mean!!!... did your halo
stay firmly in place, slip just a bit or did you trip over it in
your rush for another mince pie?
However you've managed..... Come and see us and
we'll help you sort it out. Be aware of crooked thoughts like - '
I'm too embarrassed to ring cos I've put weight on' or 'I'll try
and get a bit of weight off before I get weighed'.
We have some very good news for
returners.....We have decided to extend our special promotion. Its
such a bargain..shame to miss out!
For Total clients this means four weeks for the
price of 3 !!
For Lite clients this means 5 weeks for the price of
4!!
In other words £216 instead of £288...
It means that you must pay up front, and if you miss
a week you will lose your packs for that week (committment!!!)
To take part in this promotion, you have to join a
group and receive our help and support. Obviously special
arrangements might be required for extenuating circumstances!!....
Ring us on 0208 366 4443 or 07970 252 647 to
discuss..or call in on Wednesday evenings to see Heather for more
information.
NEW YEAR
RESOLUTIONS
It's that
time of year when you start thinking about making your New Year
resolutions. If you are like most people, February was when you
broke them and it probably happened the year before too. Whether
it's to lose weight, stop smoking or start going to the gym, there
are four main objectives to sustain your resolution and see it
through all year.
Tell others
Once you've
decided on your resolution, tell someone. Telling others will keep
you consistent - maybe talk to a friend or family member every week
to update them on how you are doing. Knowing someone is supporting
and helping you will keep you motivated to keep going.
Write it
down
Write down
your 2012 promise somewhere. If need be, keep a weekly diary so you
can look back and see how well you are doing which will encourage
you to persevere. You could also write down what would happen if
your resolution slipped somehow - it can sharpen your senses to
maintain your new behaviour.
Expert
advice
It may be
that you need authority to keep you going throughout the year. If
you're trying to lose weight, maybe speak to one of your
Lighterlife Team?
Team up
It is a
known fact that we use other people's behaviour as a guide to our
own. Why not use your friends, families or colleagues behaviour to
your advantage in 2012? Team up with someone who shares your goal
and by doing this you will be able to give and receive the support
you need whilst successfully reaching your goal.
Whatever
your resolution is this New Year, you can do it ...Don't forget
....If you say you can..you can....If you think you can't, you
can't
The Limitations of being
Overweight
While we tend to focus on the physical problems
associated with excessive weight gain -high blood pressure, heart
disease, arthritis, even lowered sex drive - it can restrict
many more aspects of your life, too.
Being overweight can be a tremendous source of
dissatisfaction and frustration. A poor body image is linked to
depression and low self-esteem, and many other emotional issues,
never mind the numerous things that you have stopped doing or never
tried because of your weight.
Do you have problems keeping up with your children
and playing an active role in their lives? Are worries about your
waistline stopping you from joining them in the swimming pool? Does
the prospect of visiting a theme park and squeezing into the rides
fill you with dread?
Is your sex drive suffering because of your weight?
Do you avoid going on dates, going out with your partner or
attending social functions because you are ashamed of how you look?
Are you stuck in an employment rut and is your
weight restricting your professional development because you are
lacking confidence to put yourself forward for new jobs or
promotions, or because you keep being passed over while your
trimmer counterparts seem to be forging ahead?
In a nutshell, is your weight holding you back? If
you answered yes to any of the above questions, then it probably
is.
Admitting to yourself
that your weight is a problem that's worth tackling for your own
sake - and not just because someone else is nagging you - is half
the battle. The other is to start taking the small but vital steps
that will enable you to shed the pounds and start to rebuild your
confidence, self-esteem and social life, as well as your
health!
If you'd like to re-join LighterLife, just give
us a call on 0208 366 4443 Mob 07970 252 647 or email us and
we can let you know which groups have places available and go
through the re-joining process with you. It would be good to have
you back!
Very Best Wishes,
Heather, Debbie, Jackie, Marian, Katerina, Carol and
David
